GTA’s committees meet throughout the year to support the organization’s activities and mission. GTA welcomes all its members to volunteer for the committee that suits their skills and interests.

Alliance Development
Leverages the resources of current members and seeks out new members or partners to strategically align with those organizations to better position GTA in the state of Georgia to advance transit.
Annual Meeting Committee
Selects a theme for the conference, gets bios, puts together sessions/panels and identifies audio visual needs. Works with the Executive Director on logistics.
Awards Committee
Recommends criteria for awards. The Board of Directors determines recognition and achievement awards to be given to members.
Board Leader Succession Planning Committee
Plans for smooth and thoughtful transitions of leadership - as well as making sure the Association is prepared for unexpected departures to assure the long-term sustainability of the Association. Functions as the nominating committee.
By-Laws Committee
Reviews the by-laws and amends them, as needed, to effectively operate the association.
Legislative Committee
Works with GTA’s Legislative Liaison to monitor transit legislative activities that may pertain to GTA’s members. Facilitates the discussion to create GTA’s Legislative Agenda before it goes to press every November.
Communications & Marketing Committee
Collects and provides materials to support the marketing of transit in Georgia. Publishes News Roundups and e-newsletters. Oversees and updates the GTA website.
Membership Committee
Conducts annual membership drives and organizes New Member Orientation at the Annual Meeting in December. Assists the Executive Director in securing new sponsors for events.
Mobility Management Committee
Solves problems, provides support network for mobility managers to better serve their respective areas while learning from experience of others, what to avoid and what works better.
Professional Development Committee
Provides education opportunities to our membership such as workshops, CLEs, webinars, seminars, forums on various topics ranging from technical classes, professional class like leadership development, financial awareness, etc.
Rural Transit Committee

Workforce Development Committee
Creates a career pipeline and/or succession plan to the transit industry by partnering or working with labor organizations, technical colleges, and workforce development centers in the state of Georgia.
